The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested Arun Kumar alias Devil, a 30-year-old hacker involved in manipulating the online SSC GD Constable examination, from Delhi’s Shahbad. Police said he was wanted in a similar case.
Arun Kumar, son of Teja Yadav, is a BA graduate and a native of Patna, Bihar. He was arrested from Shahbad Dairy under Begumpur police station limits in Delhi.

The STF said Arun was part of a network that allegedly used proxy servers and hacking techniques to remotely control candidates’ computers during online examinations. Investigators also recovered several electronic devices used in the operation.
HOW THE SSC GD EXAM HACKING WAS CARRIED OUT
The case relates to malpractice in the online SSC GD Constable examination. On May 22, 2026, the UP STF raided Balaji Digital Zone in Greater Noida and arrested seven people, recovering Rs 50 lakh in cash and proxy server equipment.
Among those arrested at the time were alleged key accused Pradeep Chauhan and hacker Amit Rana. With Arun Kumar’s arrest, 12 accused in the case have so far been sent to jail.
During interrogation, investigators learnt that Amit Rana and Arun Kumar allegedly worked together to decode the source file of the examination server and create a script that connected clients to a proxy server.
According to the STF, the setup was then used to remotely control the computers of candidates from outside.
11 RASPBERRY Pi DEVICES, 12 TFT SCREENS RECOVERED
The STF said it recovered a large quantity of electronic equipment from Arun Kumar.
The seized items include 12 TFT screens, two laptops, 11 Raspberry Pi devices, 14 video capture devices, 13 HDTV VGA adapters and nine USB adapters.
According to the investigation, the Raspberry Pi devices and other equipment were used in the setup for manipulating and remotely accessing examination systems.
HOW ARUN KUMAR BECAME ‘DEVIL’
During questioning, Arun allegedly told investigators that he entered the hacking world in 2019 while preparing for competitive examinations in Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi.
The STF said he came in contact with a man named Manoj, a resident of Darbhanga, during that period. Manoj allegedly introduced him to screen sharing and hacking techniques.
Arun gradually began making modified TFT screens and became known as ‘Devil’ in hacking circles, according to the STF.
Investigators said his network later expanded beyond Uttar Pradesh. Solver gangs from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, Jharkhand and several parts of the Northeast were in contact with him.
LINK TO 2024 SITAPUR NURSING EXAM CASE
The STF has also linked Arun Kumar to an alleged examination fraud case involving the online Nursing Staff Officer examination held in Sitapur in 2024.
According to the investigation, in the case registered as FIR number 266/2024 at Talgaon police station, Arun allegedly provided software on a pen drive to the main accused, identified as Utkarsh.
