St John of God Murdoch has been forced to shut its emergency department after a vehicle crashed into the building.

A Department of Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson told The West Australian that the crash happened at 10.13am on Thursday.

Two crews from the Fremantle Fire station are at the scene of the crash.

DFES officials have confirmed no individuals are trapped in either the building or vehicle.

In a statement shared by the hospital to their social media, the private emergency department is “temporarily closed”.

“The nearest 24/7 Emergency Department is at Fiona Stanley Hospital, across the road,” they said.

More to come.
