Student dies as light fixture falls at Hyderabad Dandiya event

Hyderabad: A first-year-engineering student died after a lighting fixture collapsed due to wind at a Dandiya event held at MSVR Engineering College at Nadergul on Saturday, October 17, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sona. Fifteen other people were injured but are out of danger, Adibatla Police told Siasat.com.

A purported video of the incident shows a metal frame used to hoist lights suddenly collapsing on a crowd.
