A man has been left flabbergasted after taking home $2.1m he was previously unaware of winning.

The newly-minted millionaire from Bass Hill, in Sydney’s west, said he had “no idea” of his good fortune, finally coming forward two weeks after the draw to claim the Saturday Lotto prize.

Initially thinking the numbers hadn’t been drawn yet, the man said he couldn’t believe his luck, telling The Lott he was “in a bit of shock”.

“I’ve honestly been playing lotteries since you guys (The Lott) started,” he said.

When asked what he’ll do with his winnings, the man he planned to renovate his house.

“The main thing I want to do is turn my house into a home,” he said.

His entry was purchased at Bass Hill Plaza News, with shop manager Tony Tran “sharing the great news with everyone”.

“It’s amazing,” Mr Tran said.

“We’re very happy and excited and we’ve been sharing the great news with everyone.

“Our last winning ticket we sold was a syndicate division one winning entry in 2024, so it was definitely time we had another division one win.

“We’ve set up balloons and will celebrate with champagne. We’re hoping we make more dreams come true for more customers.”

The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4707 on August 29 were 27, 45, 33, 25, 17 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 43.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 266 so far this calendar year – including 89 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto has now reached $4 million, while Thursday’s Powerball has $12 million up for grabs.
