Taylor Swift reportedly talked about her experience in high school, and Travis Kelce fought back tears during their wedding vows.

The 36-year-old pop superstar tied the knot with the NFL player in a lavish ceremony for 1000 guests at New York sports and concert venue Madison Square Garden in New York on Friday – and now new reports have given a glimpse inside the ceremony as the couple recited their personal wedding vows.

According to PEOPLE, Taylor talked about high school in a moment that seemed to mirror lyrics from her hit track Love Story. A source told the publication: “Taylor talked about how Travis was the guy in high school who, even though he was the star athlete, would go sit with the less-popular kids who were being bullied at lunchtime.

“And Taylor talked about how she wished she knew someone like that when she was in high school. It was so special.”

Another unnamed insider revealed Travis became tearful during the vows, telling NBC News: “Travis was very emotional during the vows. You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional.”

However, the Mail on Sunday newspaper reported Taylor also became emotional when her husband-to-be used his vows to promise to “protect her forever”.

The vows are said to have been 20 minutes long and were read from small, golden books during the ceremony, which was officiated by Hollywood actor Adam Sandler.

Broadcaster George Stephanopoulos, who was a guest at the wedding, gave a review of the ceremony to ABC News, explaining: “The ceremony was great, moving. Adam Sandler, funny and touching.

“The vows were everything you would hope for. Real, vulnerable, serious and silly, deeply loving. Who knew a wedding at Madison Square Garden could be so intimate?”

During an appearance on Good Morning America, he added: “[It was] as intimate as it could possibly be given that it was Madison Square Garden … It’s hard to imagine a place that big and a wedding with such stars could feel so personal …

“[It was] beautiful … [It was] a garden inside the Garden.”
