From the Goldfields to the Pilbara, resource sector workers across WA are trading in their hard hats for tiaras and capes this October after being inspired by WA’s very own little tiara Princess.
With more than 70 sites across the State, Sodexo’s teams and camp residents are rallying to raise vital funds for Telethon.
Their colourful theme draws inspiration directly from 2025 Little Telethon Star Izzy Miller, who started Tiara Tuesdays during her long stint at Perth Children’s Hospital.
Alongside royal dress-up days, other fundraising initiatives at Sodexo include trivia nights, music bingo and pool and darts tournaments.
Every dollar raised goes directly to Telethon.
A Sodexo spokesperson said the cause hits close to home for staff members, particularly those who have children of their own.
“Our teams and residents live and work in towns and remote villages right across WA, and many have a personal connection to Telethon’s life-changing support,” the spokesperson said.
“Telethon is a wonderful opportunity to rally the generous efforts of our residents and teams behind a cause that is making a real difference in the lives of children.
“Knowing that the funds raised can support life-changing medical care, equipment, and services for children and their families is something we’re genuinely proud to be part of.”
For six-year-old Izzy, who was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma when she was four, seeing hundreds of workers across the State dressed up in her honour is a dream come true.
“I think it’s really cool, I love that everyone is dressing up and wearing tiaras and capes,” Izzy said, adding that her favourite dress-up costume is “definitely being a princess.”

Izzy’s mother, Kim, said seeing the wave of support across WA mine sites after everything her daughter had faced brings immense pride and comfort to their family.
“It’s honestly such a special feeling,” she said
“After everything Izzy has been through, seeing people come together and be inspired by her makes me incredibly proud.
“She’s been through more than any child should ever have to experience, but she still manages to bring so much happiness to the people around her.”
Kim highlighted the crucial role Telethon plays for families navigating complex health journeys and hospital stays.
“When Izzy was going through cancer treatment, we experienced firsthand how much of a difference the support from Telethon makes to sick children and their families,” Kim said.
“When you’re spending so much time in hospital, even the little things that bring a smile to your child’s face mean the world.
“We are incredibly grateful for everything Telethon does, and being able to be part of it and give something back means so much to our family.”
Sodexo volunteers will cap off a month of fundraising by taking to the phones at the Telethon Call Centre at RAC Arena during the 26-hour charity marathon on October 17 and 18.
