New images have shown the moment a concerned friend of Thai teenager Tunchanok Donhomla confronted the West Australian man accused of murdering her the day her body was found in a suitcase dumped near a train track.
The young anonymous woman is shown at Simon Peter Carman’s filthy apartment in Pataya, while the body of her 17-year-old friend, who she knew as Nong Cake, was yet to be discovered in a tall grass about 4km away.
Mr Carman, 45, is facing charges including murder, moving or destroying a corpse, concealing a corpse and abduction of a child for indecent purpose. If convicted, he could face a penalty of death by lethal injection.
In the photos, obtained by ABC from local authorities, the unknown teen is shown with Mr Carman the day after her death, reportedly in a plea to find her missing friend after filing a missing person’s report.

Also shown in the images is the state of Mr Carman’s apartment where piles of clothes are strewn throughout the living area and empty bottles of alcohol are on display. A pink bow is attached to his front door and an opened pocket knife is also visible.
Pattaya City Police superintendent Anek Srathongyoo told SBS Thai the teenager contacted friends on the messaging application Line to say she had made it safely to his hotel after meeting Mr Carman about 3.30am.
Mr Carman was arrested on Friday night, minutes before he was due to board a Jetstar flight bound for Perth.
The girl’s naked body and personal belongings were found inside a suitcase after his arrest.

The West has confirmed that the Perth man is currently being kept at Pattaya Remand Prison as detectives work to submit their case to the public prosecutor within an 84 day deadline post arrest.
Ms Donhomla has been laid to rest in her hometown in the Kalasin province in northeast Thailand.
Hundreds of mourners lined the streets to pay their respects at the ceremony, which was conducted in line with Buddhist traditions.
