Hyderabad: Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met with QuantumScape’s San Jose, United States, president and CEO Dr. Siva Sivaram, and users of its senior leadership team about the development of next-generation battery technologies and potential relationship with India.
According to an official statement released following the visit, Dr. Sivaram provided an update on QuantumScape’s function in solid-state lithium-metal power systems, including efforts to develop batteries with higher power mass, faster charging, and improved health, in addition to regular lithium-ion chargers.
He also discussed the difficulties of moving these solutions from the research phase to the factory floor.

According to the statement, the discussions covered the entire world power supply chain, including crucial minerals, superior materials and components, mobile manufacturing and inclusion with electric vehicles. The two parties exchanged ideas on how emerging power technologies could transform existing supply stores and create new opportunities for growth and new production partnerships across geographies.
In light of this, Bhatti Vikramarka and the QuantumScape management discussed India’s expanding electric-mobility and advanced manufacturing ecosystem as well as potential future cooperation with the nation.
According to the statement, the discussions covered possible opportunities for localization or development of next-generation battery technologies in India, as well as opportunities for engineering, research, development, and supply-chain partnerships.

The Deputy Chief Minister called on QuantumScape to look into further engagement with the Indian habitat and noted India’s growing capabilities in superior production, executive talent, and fresh technologies.
The visit is a part of Bhatti Vikramarka’s wider partnership with leading US tech companies, which aims to strengthen collaboration between Indian advanced manufacturing and clean technologies leaders.
