An elderly woman from Kerala found a creative way to teach children, turning a patch of sand into a makeshift blackboard and using a stick to write on it.
Instagram user Mom of Safaachiii shared a video of the woman, fondly known as Ashaatti Ammumma, as she conducted an outdoor lesson for a group of young students.
In the video, Ashaatti Ammumma was seen holding a bucket full of sand as she sat in front of a row of seated children. She sprinkled the sand on the ground while the students watched curiously. She then used a stick to spread it into an even layer before settling down on a stool.

With the sandy surface ready, she began writing the alphabet with the stick, also demonstrating its cursive form. The children followed along, using their fingers to trace the letters in the sand as she taught them.
The video offered a simple example of how a little ingenuity could turn everyday materials into useful learning tools.
The post’s caption praised the grandmother, calling her a “superato.”
