Rapido has issued a statement after one of the three accused shooters in the firing incident targeting Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was publicly linked to the ride-hailing platform. Hrithik Kumar, 22, along with two others, has been arrested for allegedly opening fire at the actor’s car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on October 18.
Following the arrests, it emerged that Kumar was a gig worker associated with Rapido. Responding to the reports, the ride-hailing company clarified that while Kumar was registered as a ‘captain’ (rider or driver) on its platform, he had not been active since October 14 – four days before the firing incident.

“We are deeply concerned by the incident involving Mr. Tiger Shroff and his team, and we are relieved that he is safe. We wish him a swift recovery,” Rapido said in an official statement.
It added, “We are aware of media reports mentioning an individual registered as a captain on the Rapido platform. He has not been active as a captain on our platform since 14th October. As is common in India’s larger gig economy, individuals may be registered with several platforms at the same time.”
It further revealed that Kumar used Rapido as a customer on the day shots were fired at Shroff’s car. The three accused in the case were caught from a train on Monday, October 19, after its arrival in Rajasthan’s Kota.
