A comment made by performer Tina Arena about her ex-husband has emerged online after it was revealed he was the high-profile identity at the centre of a Melbourne rape case.
Ralph Carnovale-Carr, 66, was found guilty by a jury of raping a young woman at his Melbourne home following a two-week trial.
A suppression order hiding his identity was lifted by the court following the verdict.
Carnovale-Carr was a high-profile business figure who managed singer-songwriter Tina Arena.
The pair married in 1995 and divorced four years later.
The celebrity agent also managed Richmond superstar Dustin Martin.
Australia Femicide Watch posted on social media: “Another high-profile Victorian has been charged with rape — and once again we can’t name them” which drew a response from Arena about seven months ago.
The performer responded: “Time catches up with everyone. I think I know who it is, and looking forward to it being revealed.”
She is yet to comment publicly on the matter.
A documentary titled Unravel Me celebrating the singer’s 50 years in the music industry will be unveiled at the Melbourne International Film Festival next week.
“I know what it’s like to lose everything and start again,” she said.
