The wait is almost over. On Saturday 19 September, the Perth Wildcats tip off their NBL27 campaign at RAC Arena against South East Melbourne Phoenix, and The Jungle is set to roar back to life.
The Perth Wildcats are Western Australia’s team, and RAC Arena is home to one of the most electric atmospheres in Australian sport. Backed by passionate fans, the Wildcats bring championship pedigree, elite talent and unforgettable game nights to Perth every NBL season.
With no preseason games played on home soil, the opener on Saturday 19 September will be the first chance all year for Perth fans to see the Wildcats in action in their own city. Whether you’ve been a Wildcats fan for decades or you’re thinking about catching your first game, here’s the practical rundown of who, what, when and where.
Everything you need to know
Perth hosts South East Melbourne Phoenix in a 7:30PM tip-off at RAC Arena on Saturday 19 September. It’s the first of five straight home games to open the season, with Adelaide 36ers and the New Zealand Breakers also making the trip to Perth before the Wildcats hit the road.
The Wildcats will play eight home games across their opening nine outings, a rare, fan-friendly start that gives fans an early and extended run of live basketball inside The Jungle before Perth’s first away trip, a clash with defending champions the Sydney Kings.
Over the full season, RAC Arena will host 16 regular-season home games, spread across Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Wednesday and one Sunday afternoon fixture. The regular season wraps up at home against the Brisbane Bullets in February, with finals to follow for any club that makes the cut.
Season highlights
Early standout fixtures include the club’s 10th annual Pink Game for Breast Cancer Care WA on Friday 2 October, also against South East Melbourne Phoenix. The club is aiming to make this year’s game bigger and better than ever, raising greater awareness and even more funds for the cause.

Tickets for the final five home games of the season, including the Wednesday 16 December clash with Melbourne United, go on sale in early November, with another members-first pre-sale window before that on-sale opens.
Wildcats openers are consistently among the hottest tickets in the NBL, and this one should be no different. See you in The Jungle.
