Selections based on a heavy track
Race 1
6. Wairarapa is a well-bred Pierata filly making her debut and she is out of an Oaks winner in Dizelle. She’s had three trials in preparation and has drawn well in this with Rachel King taking the ride. 11. Sharbino performed well when a last start third at Kembla Grange when racing on the pace and another forward showing is on. 3. Col Du Tourmalet has had two starts for a debut second at Canberra before a fifth at Warwick Farm and can be thereabouts based on that form. 5. Look Here has been placed in four of eight starts and wasn’t far away at Newcastle last time as favourite.

Race 2
2. Yattazou was first-up from a spell when finishing hard for a second at Canterbury. She followed that with a last of seven at Warwick Farm but is capable of improving sharply. 1. Touching Hans is on debut and has had three trials including two recent efforts including a win at this track. 8. Rising Revolution was placed on debut at Hawkesbury last September and resumes after a trial. 11. Out Lady Peace has been placed in her latest two starts and can be thereabouts again.
How to play it: Yattazou to win.
Race 3
6. Appin Opal has had one start for a fifth on the Kensington track at Randwick in January. She was spelled after that and has had two barrier trials leading into this return. She looks set to sprint well fresh. 2. Unleash Harry finished third at Hawkesbury on debut and has won a trial in between. He’s drawn wide but can overcome that. 1. See Diamond is having his first start and has performed well in two trials. This looks within reach. 3. Southport was midfield here on debut in December and has had two trials in preparation.
How to play it: Appin Opal to win.
Race 4
6. Yesspecially was a Taree trial winner before scoring a debut victory at the same track when racing on the speed and scoring. He looks hard to hold out. 3. She Swings is resuming from a spell and has sound form to suggest she can run well. 5. Difensivo is first-up after two trials and has a win and three placings from six starts. 4. Yes Siree ran second at Wyong before being spelled and ran second in a trial at this track leading into this return.
How to play it: Yesspecially to win.
Race 5
1. Abandonment is a former New Zealander that has a win and two placings from five starts. He’s had two trials to prepare for this first-up assignment and looks primed to run well. 2. Ballpark has shown talent in his short career and looks set to run well against these. 4. Hammoon Heroine has only missed a place once from six starts and has ability. 5. Lipstick shows talent and shouldn’t be taken lightly.
How to play it: Abandonment to win.
Race 6
7. Copycat had two starts in January and failed to beat a runner in each of them at Canterbury before being spelled. He’s had two trials leading into this return and finished second in each of them. He looks set to improve fresh. 4. Merini is a Kiwi that ran second at her Australian debut at Wyong and should be prominent on the strength of that. 2. Flying Artisam ran well when a last start second at Kembla Grange, while 13. The Machine Gun is on debut and has trialled well.
How to play it: Copycat each way.
Race 7
2. Charlina is a consistent filly that has two wins and five placings from 11 starts, and she has hit her straps of late having scored a win at Kembla Grange in February. She had a couple of recent placings before doing the job well to score a last-start win at this track when leading all the way and only needs to run up to that to be difficult to hold out again. 3. Iron Fury has a win and five placings from nine starts and resumes here after two trials. 5. Gogmagog is first up after a trial and has a solid record. 6. Tides Turning scored at Hawkesbury when big odds two starts ago and can improve here on a last-start seventh at Hawkesbury.
How to play it: Charlina to win.
Race 8
7. Easiest Choice was a winner at Newcastle when resuming from a spell and followed it up with a fourth at Kembla Grange. She since won in good style at Wyong before a last start third at the same track last time out. She is racing well enough to give this a shake. 5. Trooper has been racing well with three straight wins including a last start Moruya success. 3. Harlex was placed in a Midway at this track when last produced and warrants respect. 11. River Pat has been placed in both runs back from a spell.
How to play it: Easiest Choice to win.
