Aurelio Vidmar will remain in charge of Melbourne City for at least the next two seasons after signing a new deal with the A-League Men club.
Vidmar, who initially took the reins in an interim capacity in November 2023, guided City to the ALM championship in his first full season in charge.
The former Socceroos attacker then took the club to new heights in Asia, reaching the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League Elite for the first time.
“It’s a privilege to lead this football club, and I’m delighted to be extending my time at Melbourne City,” Vidmar said in a club statement.
“We’ve achieved some important milestones over the past few seasons … while consistently competing in finals football.
“Just as importantly, we’ve continued to provide opportunities for young players to develop and progress to the highest level, while also seeing so many of our players earn national team selection across multiple age groups.
“There’s still a lot we want to achieve and I’m excited to continue that journey with everyone at the club.”
City finished sixth on the ALM ladder in the recently completed season and were knocked out in an elimination final by eventual champions Auckland FC.
