Travis Barker’s daughter Alabama predicted his plane crash just hours before he stepped onto the doomed private jet.
The Blink-182 star was seriously injured in 2008 when his plane crashed during take-off at an airport in South Carolina with the accident claiming the lives of four people – and Travis has now revealed Alabama – who was a toddler at the time but is now 20 – warned him not to take that flight because she was convinced something bad was going to happen.
During an appearance on the On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast, Travis explained: “I say bye to Bama. She’s young at the time. She’s three or four years old,
“She’s like: ‘Dad, don’t go!’ She’s bawling, and she doesn’t usually do that. She’s like: ‘The roof’s gonna come off! The roof’s gonna come off!’ and I’m like: ‘What is she talking about?'”
Travis explained the private plane for the return leg of the journey was booked at the “last minute” because the rest of his party were keen to get home quickly.
He said: “I get there, play our show, and then we’re supposed to leave the next morning. But everyone else that was with me was in a hurry to get home. So, we booked a private plane, super last minute.”
Travis went on to reveal he had an “awful” feeling before stepping onboard so he called his dad, who advised him to take the flight.
He said: “Even back then without an accident I was like: ‘Who‘s the pilot. Has the plane been maintenanced?’… Everyone’s like: ‘Trav, you’re never going to get in a plane crash’ … “
He added of his return flight: “[I saw] one plane in the distance it’s really small. We pull up to the plane and I’m like: ‘This can’t be our plane. There’s no way. I call my dad and show him the plane and tell him I have this awful feeling.
“My dad was like: ‘You’re gonna be fine. Just get on the plane. Call me when you get home’ … [I] got on the plane but I knew something feels off. I even told my dad, ‘If something happens to me, please make sure the kids are taken care of.’
“I was saying way too much. All the signs were there.”
Travis added: “Now older me would just say, ‘I think I’m not gonna get on the plane.”
The plane crash killed Travis’ assistant Chris Baker and security guard Charles Still Jr. The rocker’s pal Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein survived the accident, but he died a year later after suffering a drug overdose.
