British TV legend Jeremy Clarkson says he feels like the “world’s luckiest man” after receiving a positive update on his cancer battle.
The 66-year-old host shared his shocking cancer diagnosis last week in an episode of his show Clarkson’s Farm.
The series ended on a major cliffhanger with him in a hospital bed, saying the show may or may not be back, depending on the outcome of his medical treatment.
But now, in a major update on his health journey, the former Top Gear host revealed he is in remission after being treated for a malignant tumour in his prostate last August.
“I am without a doubt, officially the world’s luckiest man,” he told The Sunday Times.
“It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble,” he continued.
In 2024, the TV star’s health made headlines when he was rushed to hospital on the brink of heart failure and was fitted with two life-saving stents.
Following his latest health saga, the broadcaster is learning not to take advantage of his health.
“I really like seeing my grandchildren. I want to watch them grow up. I drive much more slowly. I’m a bit of a dawdler. I go for walks a lot. I have vegetarian food,” he said.
Fans of Clarkson’s Farm around the world were quick to react to the news of his cancer diagnosis, something the star had not expected.
“I got woken up (Friday) night when people in Australia saw the show and started texting me. The story has landed harder than I thought it would,” he said.
He’s now joining other high profile figures — including former UK Prime Minister David Cameron — in urging people to get tested.
“This is why I have to say to everybody who’s reading this, please, please, please go and get checked. It’s not uncomfortable, it’s not undignified. And it’s a no-brainer. I did, and that’s why I’m sitting here talking to you 11 months down the line.”
The star also confirmed that a sixth season of Clarkson’s Farm was in production, meaning fans can expect more antics from Diddly Squat Farm.
