Two people are in custody after a police operation near at an entertainment precinct close to Sydney’s city centre, with people seen running and screaming.
The operation remains underway at the Entertainment Quarter at Moore Park after a man was arrested for allegedly possessing a plastic gun.
Chaotic social media footage showed dozens of police officers including some wearing tactical gear surrounding the alleged offenders and confused shoppers running.
NSW Police there is no ongoing threat to public safety but have advised the public to avoid the area on Monday.
Close to Allianz Stadium and the Sydney Cricket Ground, the precinct spans over 11 hectares boasting cinemas, restaurants, bars and shops.
