Two giant pythons spotted roaming around a residential area near an industrial facility in Assam’s Dibrugarh district have left locals worried, with residents saying they are increasingly afraid to step out of their homes, particularly after dark.
The snakes were spotted near the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) facility. Their presence created panic in the neighbourhood, with residents concerned about the possibility of an encounter while going about their daily activities.

Locals said the frequent movement of the two large pythons had made it difficult for them to move around freely. Many were reluctant to venture outside after sunset, fearing they could come across the reptiles.

Residents have also raised concerns over the alleged lack of response from the forest department, saying no action had been taken despite the growing anxiety in the area.
Fearing a possible incident, locals have urged forest officials to visit the spot at the earliest and safely rescue and relocate the two pythons.
They have also appealed to authorities to intervene without delay, stressing that the situation needs to be addressed while ensuring the safety of both residents and the snakes.
