Socceroos head coach Tony Popovic has been forced to make changes to his squad for the prestige friendlies against Brazil.
Mohamed Toure (Norwich City) and Alexander Robertson (Cardiff City) have been withdrawn by their clubs for medical reasons.
Popovic has only called up one replacement, Nishan Velupillay of German third tier club Ingolstadt. The winger played during the World Cup.
Australia face Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil twice, on Friday night in Townsville and next Tuesday night at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane.
They are the Socceroos’ first matches since reaching the last 16 at the World Cup and begin Popovic’s preparation for the Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia early next year.
