Two women allegedly assaulted by gang of home invaders in week of terror in Sydney

Three men have been arrested after they allegedly broke into the homes of two different women before assaulting them and robbing them earlier in the week.

NSW Police have charged three men after a spate of home invasions and terrifying assaults on women who were home alone rocked Sydney’s southwest on Tuesday and Thursday.

About 12am on Tuesday, police were called to a property on Marinea St in Arncliffe after receiving reports of a home invasion.

When officers arrived, they found a 31-year-old woman at the scene who told them she had been sexually assaulted by a group of unknown men who forced their way into her home and threatened her with a knife before stealing money and leaving.

The woman was taken to hospital and treated for minor injures.

Two days later, police were called to a home on Jacobs St in Bankstown where a 32-year-old woman said a trio of men had broken into her home, threatened her with a knife and stolen her money.

She was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

At about 7.45pm, police raided three homes in Belmore, Punchbowl and Greenacre and arrested an 18-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

The 20-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence by depriving someone of their liberty, aggravated robbery while depriving someone of their liberty, two counts of choking someone with intent to commit an offence, common assault, and using an offensive weapon.

The 19-year-old was charged with aggravated break and enter, deprivation of liberty, two counts of nonconsensual choking with intent to commit a crime, two counts of aggravated sexual assault, aggravated robbery, common assault, using an offensive weapon in company and failure to provide access to digital devices.

The 18-yera-old was charged with aggravated break and enter, committing a serious indictable offence, aggravated robbery, two counts of choking, common assault and using an offensive weapon.

The 20-year-old and the 19-year-old will appear in court on Friday.
