The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has extended the deadline for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET)-2026 application process by six days. Candidates can now register, pay the application fee and submit their online application forms until September 7, 2026.

The commission had earlier fixed September 1 as the last date for registration, fee payment and submission of the application form. The deadline for fee adjustment and corrections in submitted applications will remain September 8.

The PET-2026 notification was issued by UPSSSC on August 1 under Advertisement No. 16-Examination/2026. The online application process began on August 3. At the time of the notification, candidates were given until September 1 to complete the application process.

The commission has now provided additional time for candidates who could not complete their applications within the original schedule.

OTP, WEBSITE ISSUES REPORTED; RULES UNCHANGED

The extension comes as candidates had reported difficulties while completing the registration process. Applicants said they faced problems with the UPSSSC website and One Time Registration (OTR), including delays or failure in receiving OTPs needed for verification.

Some candidates had also sought an extension of the deadline through social media as the original closing date approached.

According to the revised schedule, candidates who have not yet completed the PET-2026 application can now finish the registration, fee payment and form submission by September 7.

Those who have already submitted their forms will have until September 8 to make permitted corrections and complete fee adjustment formalities.

There is no change in the application process, fee structure, selection basis or other conditions mentioned in the original notification. The fee is Rs 185 for General and OBC candidates, Rs 95 for SC and ST candidates, and Rs 25 for candidates with disabilities.

For eligibility, candidates must have passed Class 10 or an equivalent examination by the last date of application. The prescribed age range is 18 to 40 years, with applicable relaxations for eligible categories.

PET is used as a qualifying examination for recruitment to various posts under the UPSSSC. Candidates who qualify may subsequently be considered for recruitment processes for posts for which PET scores are required.

UPSSSC has advised applicants not to wait until the final day and to complete the process in advance. Candidates should also check the information entered in their applications and use the correction window, where applicable, before it closes on September 8.
