Victoria Beckham’s daughter Harper Beckham begged her to ring her school and persuade them to let her wear make-up.
The 52-year-old fashion designer has told how the 15 year old was horrified that make-up was banned from school, so much so she questioned why her teachers don’t want her to “look [her] best”.
During an appearance on a Today show segment, Commuter Beauty, Victoria was asked by journalist Zanna Roberts Rassi how she stopped Harper wearing make-up so young.
She replied: “She does it quite naturally. She’s really good at applying make-up.
“Quite recently she said, ‘They’ve told me that I’m not allowed to wear make-up for school.’
“She said, ‘Why don’t they want me to look my best?’
“She’s like, ‘Mummy can’t you call the school?’ I’m like, ‘I can’t Harper.’ “
In May, Victoria told how Harper has “struggled” with her skin.
Speaking on Emma Grede’s Aspire podcast, she said: “She loves make-up and skincare. She has really struggled with her skin.
“Harper loves to go shopping and make-up shopping, and that’s such a nice feeling that we can do that together.”
The Spice Girls singer recently admitted Harper uses PowerPoint presentations to try to convince her to do something for her.
During an appearance on Today with Jenna + Sheinelle, she explained the teenager approached her armed with two presentations to help her make two big asks.
Victoria – who also has sons Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 24, and Cruz, 21, with her husband, Sir David Beckham, 51 – said: “One, she wanted a beauty brand, and these are the reasons.
“Number two, she wanted a perm. She wanted to perm her hair.”
While Victoria – who launched her brand Victoria Beckham Beauty in 2019 – told Harper they’d “talk about the beauty brand” when she was older, it was a firm no to the hair request.
She added: “Harper loves beauty and skincare, ever since she was little. She’s been on my lap while I had my hair and makeup done. She loves sitting in product development meetings with me.”
While Harper is increasingly stepping into the spotlight with her own ambitious beauty ventures, her rise comes against the backdrop of a family dynamic that has frequently made headlines – most recently the speculated fallout surrounding her oldest brother, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 31.
