Police have arrested a 42-year-old man in Gujarat’s Surat after a CCTV video showing him allegedly threatening a person with a sword over a money dispute went viral on social media.
The incident was reported near KSB Trend in the Pandesara area. According to police, the accused, identified as Manoj Lalman Maurya, allegedly demanded money from a youth and brandished a sharp weapon to intimidate him.

The entire incident was captured by a CCTV camera installed nearby. The footage later surfaced on social media, prompting Pandesara police to take immediate action and launch an investigation.
Police arrested Maurya after identifying him from the CCTV footage. He works as a TV repair technician and lives in Ganesh Nagar Police Colony in Pandesara. He is originally from the Sarai Mamarej area of Prayagraj district in Uttar Pradesh.
A case has been registered against Maurya for allegedly threatening the youth with a sharp weapon while attempting to recover money. Police said strict action would be taken against individuals who use weapons to intimidate people or engage in extortion.
