When Nada’s Amore Disperato shares the playlist with Prince, you’re not inside your average Enmore Road diner. The Maestro Hospitality team (see also, Ormeggio, a’Mare and Cibaria), have gone big and loud behind the sweet facade of the Marie-Louise Salon, stocking it with 80 choices of gin (hence the gintoneria tag), a bustling menu of antipasto, pasta, elegant fish and meat dishes, frilly stools, and a bucketful of Italian bravura.

Snack on crostini, olives or baccala mantecato before the must-try tonnarelli in a rich tomato sauce of meltingly soft chicken livers and giblets. Head chef Gianmarco Pardini’s “best ever” lasagne is known locally as “seven layers of happiness”, and the crumbed veal cotoletta covers the plate. It’s the sort of place you drop into for a drink and a snack and have such a good time, you end up staying all night – making it perfect for Enmore Road.

Good to know: Don’t wear braces, or you’ll be mistaken for a waiter.
