Actor-comedian Vir Das has earned his third International Emmy nomination for his Netflix stand-up special Vir Das: Fool Volume. The nomination marks another international recognition for Das, following his previous nods for Vir Das: For India and Vir Das: Landing. Apart from Das, SonyLIV’s Real Kashmir Football Club has also secured a nomination, making it another Indian title to be recognised at the International Emmys.

Das was first nominated for an International Emmy in the Comedy category in 2021 for Vir Das: For India. He received his second nomination in 2023 for Landing, which went on to win the International Emmy for Comedy that year. The win marked Das’ first International Emmy victory.
His latest nomination comes for Vir Das: Fool Volume, his fifth Netflix stand-up special. Released in 2025, the special sees Das explore themes including foolishness, happiness, the evil eye and a bout of lost voice, blending personal storytelling with his signature social commentary.
Talking about the nomination, Vir Das said, “Every few years, Netflix and I find a new reason to get together and make something slightly foolish I mean, funny. I’m humbled all over again to be nominated for an International Emmy. Fool Volume is about silence — what it means to have a voice, and what happens when you actually use it. I’m deeply grateful to the jury, audiences, my team, and Netflix for giving me the space to make work I believe in. And to everyone who has laughed along the way — clearly, my delusion is contagious.”
Fool Volume has clever humour with introspective moments, exploring themes such as identity, politics, and the quirks of everyday life. This is Vir’s sixth stand-up special and follows his Emmy-winning Landing, which made him the first Indian comedian to bag the prestigious International Emmy Award in 2024. Fool Volume has since been gaining attention for its fearless commentary and clever writing.
Meanwhile, the series Real Kashmir Football Club, starring Manav Kaul and Md Zeeshan Ayyub, is about two dreamers set out to build a professional football club with 20 determined underdogs. Against the odds, they brought together players from across the Valley and turned their shared passion for football into a story of grit, sacrifice and hope.
