The amount of time it takes for a house to sell in Perth has more than doubled over the past year, according to new data from Cotality.

And the firm’s October Housing Chart Pack, released today, also reveals dwelling values in Perth slid by 4.7 per cent over the September quarter.

It detailed a “weak” start to spring that research director Tim Lawless said reflected more than the usual seasonal interruptions.

Good morning readers, and welcome to our live news blog for Thursday, October 15.

Making headlines today is news from Rivervale, where residents are at their wits’ ends, driven to despair over ongoing issues with nearby public housing.

The suburb has been in the spotlight recently after business owners banded together to raise problems about ongoing anti-social behaviour and dysfunction along the local shopping strip with the state government.

The community has requested a sit-down with agencies including the Department of Housing, Communities and WA Police, to explain issues they are experiencing due to unchecked and unsupported public housing in the suburb.
