WFH, online courses in Hyderabad advised amid Ganesh sessions

In light of the heavy rain forecast to correspond with the Ganesh absorption festivities between September 18 and 25, Cyberabad Police have called on IT firms and educational institutions in the commissionerate to allow staggered first logouts, promote work from home and move online courses.

On Thursday, September 17, a meeting of Cyberabad Commissioner M. Ramesh, Joint Commissioner ( Traffic ) Sunpreet Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP ) ( Traffic ), the Society for Cyberabad Security Council, and Additional Deputy CP ( Traffic ) members, Telangana Weatherman, a local weather enthusiast, held a meeting to discuss the city’s weather conditions for the time.

Firms requested to permit early logouts starting at 2 p.m.

Following the discussion, Cyberabad Police conducted a virtual meeting with the commissionerates ‘ heads of IT companies and educational institutions, urging them to prioritize the safety and convenience of their employees and students.

Police said the move was done to reduce travel-related risks and ease pressure on road system. Companies were asked to help staggered first logouts and encourage work from home from 2 pm between September 18 and September 25.

Schools and different educational facilities were urged to switch to online classes during the heavy rains forecast and the Ganesh absorption processions to reduce student inconvenience and ensure the smooth functioning of vital services.
