A dispute linked to allegations of harassment of a minor girl in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi snowballed into a dramatic public confrontation, with a viral video showing a group of women chasing and beating a middle-aged man with slippers in the presence of a police officer.
The man seen in the video is reportedly the father of a youth accused of inappropriate behaviour and harassment of a minor girl. The incident, which took place in the City Kotwali area of Jhansi, has triggered widespread discussion on social media after footage of the assault surfaced online.

In the viral clip, two to three women can be seen running after the man and hitting him with slippers, while a police officer attempts to intervene and shield him. Despite the officer’s efforts, the women continue assaulting the man for some time before the situation is eventually brought under control.
DISPUTE BEGAN OVER ALLEGATIONS INVOLVING A MINOR
According to local reports, the controversy stems from allegations that a minor girl came into contact with the accused youth under the pretext of attending coaching classes. The girl’s family later alleged that she was subjected to inappropriate behaviour and harassment.
After the allegations came to light, tensions escalated between the two families, who are said to be related.
The situation reportedly intensified when a group of social activists and women visited the accused family’s home to discuss the matter and seek a resolution. During the conversation, the accused youth’s father allegedly suggested that the issue could be settled with money, a claim that angered the women present.
A heated argument followed, and the situation deteriorated further when the man allegedly behaved inappropriately with the women, according to the allegations made against him.
ASSAULT CAPTURED ON VIDEO
The disagreement soon turned physical, with the women allegedly attacking the man. The viral video shows them chasing him in public and striking him repeatedly with slippers as he tries to evade them.
A police officer present at the scene is seen attempting to separate the two sides and prevent the assault from escalating. The officer eventually managed to bring the situation under control.
Social activist Shweta Parashar has demanded an impartial investigation into the allegations involving the minor girl and strict action against anyone found guilty.
According to Parashar, the girl had come into contact with the accused youth around a week earlier through coaching classes. She alleged that the youth took the girl to his house, where objectionable behaviour took place.
Meanwhile, a complaint lodged at Kotwali police station accuses the youth of harassment, inappropriate conduct and issuing threats to the minor.
Police said they are investigating the allegations made by the minor as well as the assault captured in the viral video. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
