Xiaomi is officially bringing its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 18 Pro, to Indian shores. The announcement came during Snapdragon Day at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, where Gautam Batra, Associate Director of Product Marketing at Xiaomi India, confirmed that the handset will hit the Indian market in the coming months.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro joins a select group of upcoming devices, including the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27, slated to be the first wave of smartphones in India powered by Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. Here is a quick look at everything the phone offers.

Compact Front Screen, Functional Rear Display

Unlike many bulky modern flagships, the Xiaomi 18 Pro goes for a relatively compact footprint. On the front, it features a 6.4-inch flat 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 4,000 nits of peak brightness.

Flip the phone over, and you will find a secondary 2.7-inch LTPO AMOLED display right next to the camera module. This smaller screen matches the primary panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 4,000 nits peak brightness. It lets users check notifications, interact with widgets, frame high-res selfies using the main cameras, or set custom graphics.

Xiaomi has also introduced its new Super Pixel Display 2.0 on the device. Similar to privacy solutions seen on phones like Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra and Huawei’s Mate XT 2, this hardware-level privacy feature uses specialised micro-baffles and privacy pixels to narrow viewing angles on demand, preventing people nearby from snooping on your screen.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 Under the Hood

Performance duties are handled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, built on a 2nm architecture with Oryon CPU cores reaching up to 5.01GHz. Xiaomi pairs the processor with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and internal storage options of 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB.

To handle thermals during heavy gaming and multi-tasking, Xiaomi has built in a redesigned ring-shaped cold pump cooling system.

Leica Optics with Dual 200MP Cameras

Mobile photography remains a core focus, developed in partnership with Leica. The camera array includes:

-Primary camera: 200MP Light Fusion 960 (1/1.28-inch sensor) with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
-Telephoto lens: 200MP periscope camera with OIS and 3.2x optical zoom, capable of macro shots as close as 12cm.
-Ultrawide camera: 50MP shooter for sweeping landscapes and wide frames.
-Front camera: 50MP sensor housed inside a punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls.

Battery, Charging, and Software

Despite its manageable size, the Xiaomi 18 Pro houses a sizable 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. For charging, it supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

On the connectivity and hardware front, the device includes Wi-Fi 7, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port, dual stereo speakers, an IP68 dust-and-water resistance rating, and a dedicated AI button. It boots Android 17 customized with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 out of the box.

Expected India Price

Xiaomi has not revealed the official India launch date or pricing yet. However, considering that the Xiaomi 17 debuted at Rs 89,999 and component costs have steadily climbed, the Xiaomi 18 Pro could breach the Rs 1,00,000 mark when it lands in India. Buyers looking for flagship Snapdragon performance will likely compare its pricing against rivals like the iQOO 16 and Motorola Signature 27 before making a call.
