Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a strict view of protests by Gen Alpha students over administrative lapses and shortcomings at educational institutions, directing officials to ensure that complaints are addressed promptly and responsibility is fixed for negligence.
The Chief Minister’s directions follow protests reported from Lucknow, Azamgarh, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Unnao and other districts. He has ordered close monitoring of educational institutions and called for immediate action on issues such as teacher shortages, infrastructure gaps and administrative delays.

CMO OFFICIALS APPOINTED AS NODAL OFFICERS
Officials from the Chief Minister’s Office have been appointed as nodal officers to monitor educational institutions and ensure that deficiencies are addressed without delay.
The monitoring will cover institutions under basic and secondary education, higher education, technical and vocational education, social welfare and labour departments. Officials have been directed to identify those responsible for lapses and fix accountability wherever shortcomings are found.
TEACHER SHORTAGE, RECRUITMENT DELAYS UNDER SCRUTINY
The government has also raised questions over delays in deploying teachers at Sarvodaya schools, despite the new academic session beginning on April 1.
Officials responsible for delays in issuing advertisements for teacher recruitment in June will also be identified, according to the directions. The Chief Minister has stressed that administrative delays affecting students and the functioning of educational institutions will not be overlooked.
DM-LEVEL MONITORING OF SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS
Chief Secretary SP Goyal has directed divisional commissioners and district magistrates to monitor social media posts related to schools and educational institutions.
District magistrates have been asked to examine complaints through their official social media accounts and provide fact-based responses to issues raised by students, parents and others.
Moreover, the government has issued detailed guidelines to strengthen infrastructure, cleanliness and communication with students and parents in basic and secondary schools. Officials have also been directed to take preventive measures against waterlogging and sanitation-related problems in schools during the monsoon.
The latest directions underline the government’s focus on ensuring that complaints at educational institutions are addressed quickly, while fixing responsibility on officials wherever negligence is established.
