A young driver has narrowly escaped serious injury – instead being treated for minor ones in hospital – after his car wrapped around a tree when it crashed in south Adelaide.
South Australia Police responded to reports of a crash involving a Mitsubishi sedan just after 7am on Tuesday.
They said the car had come off Education Rd in Chandlers Hill and crashed into a nearby tree.
Pictures supplied by police show an indent from where the car collided with the tree, leaving the windscreen shattered and substantial damage to the passenger side.
Police said the driver, a 21-year-old man from Seaford Heights, was removed from the wreckage and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed for several hours to handle the fallen tree and car that were blocking the road, but it has since reopened.
Police are investigating the lead up to the accident and are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with their investigation.
