A WA café owner has made waves online after revealing the bizarre hand-written letter containing a ‘list of tips’ a customer sent her, with number one being that she ‘put her t*** away.’
Casadi Aldridge, 24, opened Espresso Yourself Café in Donnybrook with her mum Krystal just last month and frequently documented the shop’s transformation on social media, prior to the opening.
But in her latest video, uploaded to the business’ Instagram page over the weekend, the young café owner shared the brazen ‘love letter’ one customer had taken the time to write and pay $1.85 to send her.
“We got a letter delivered from the mailman, with a stamp from the Donnybrook post office – which is literally five doors down – dropped off at the shop last Tuesday,” Ms Aldridge told PerthNow.
“My mum actually opened it and ripped it up and put it in the bin because she didn’t want to show me. But when I then came in she told me about it and I said ‘no get that out of the bin right now I want to read it!’”
Showcasing the handwritten letter in her video, Ms Aldridge revealed the top eight tips the ‘thoughtful’ customer had for her.
“Number one: put your t*** away,” she read out, pausing briefly to stare at the camera in disbelief.
She continued: “Two, wear decent length shorts and three, reduce your prices. Number four: no babies or kids in the kitchen. Five, rearrange your tables.
“Six, you are not an influencer. Seven, get some food into your fridges. Number eight: get a barista.
“I just thought it was really, really funny. And I’m so glad that I get this love letter sent to me for $1.85 from literally down the street.”
The young café owner told PerthNow that she had always wanted to “have her own business”, with her mother getting on board to support her dream when the opportunity arose earlier this year.
“We’re like best friends so it’s really good to work with her. She had me at a very young age too so we’re very close and love running the café together,” she continued.
Since sharing the video, the WA local says she’s been inundated with hundreds of comments from people in the community and across Australia, hailing Ms Aldridge for taking the situation on her chin.
“You go girl!! Stay strong and ignore the haters! It’s not every day I find a 24 year old that has the ambition or drive to own their own business,” one person wrote, with another adding: “I find that so pathetic that someone spent time and money into that letter.”
A third commented: “If they think they can do better, they should start their own café and see how hard it is. As a previous small business owner, I know you are doing a great job for the benefit of your future.”
