As Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke prepares to return to India on June 6 and launch a sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the group has received public support from climate activist and education reformer Sonam Wangchuk. Wangchuk, popularised as Rancho in 3 Idiots, for his unconventional approach to education and problem-solving, said he was convinced by the group’s “immensely patriotic” intent and “willingness to make sacrifices” for the country.

The backing comes at a time when the month-old youth pressure group, which began as an online satire, is attempting to move beyond social media and give itself a more formal structure. The CJP has appointed three spokespersons who will be representing the movement in public and to the media. This marks a clear effort to organise and professionalise the outfit ahead of planned protests.
Journalist Saurav Das has been named chief spokesperson. Das brings his experience in reporting on legal, judicial, and social issues. He was also actively involved in leading the anti-pollution protests at India Gate in November 2025.
Joining him as spokespersons are Vijeta Dahiya and Ashutosh Ranka.
Vijeta Dahiya has a background in political research, strategic analysis, writing, content creation, and filmmaking. A Delhi Technological University alumnus, he has authored two books. He has also written and directed the Haryanvi films Daraarein and Opari Paraai, and provided research and content support to several YouTube creators.
Ashutosh Ranka, an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and the London School of Economics, previously worked with the global management consulting firm McKinsey & Company in London, advising international clients on operational and economic strategies. After returning to India last year, he has been involved in public movements in Jaipur on issues related to environment, education, and youth, including the Dol Ka Badh campaign, the Amaira suicide case, and protests around the NEET paper leak.
Their profiles were shared by the CJP’s verified handle on X.
The appointments reflect CJP’s stated aim of changing India’s political discourse through a new generation of voices. The party is trying to convert its online following into a more structured presence on the ground.
COCKROACH JANTA PARTY’S ABHIJEET DIPKE PLANS PROTEST AT JANTAR MANTAR
Abhijeet Dipke, currently in Boston, said he was “counting on the people” for support as he returns to India.
He has publicly expressed nervousness about the decision to return to India, but added that he is prepared for whatever followed.
He plans to stage a peaceful sit-in at Jantar Mantar on Saturday (June 6) and demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak.
The Cockroach Janta Party has highlighted that more than one crore students appearing for exams such as NEET, CBSE, CUET, and SSC GD have been affected by irregularities, with some losing their lives. CJP has said that despite a petition with over eight lakh signatures demanding accountability, the Union Education Minister has not resigned.
Dipke has called on supporters to join him at the airport upon arrival and proceed together to Parliament Street Police Station to seek permission for the Jantar Mantar protest. He has emphasised that the movement will remain peaceful and is exercising the constitutional right to protest.
Wangchuk’s endorsement is expected to add visibility to the June 6 protest. In a video message, the Ladakh-based activist said he decided to support CJP after being convinced of their intentions.
Dipke has said that the party’s focus remains on demanding accountability in the education system.
As Dipke prepares to land in New Delhi, the coming days will show how the authorities respond to the planned protest and how effectively the newly appointed spokespersons communicate the group’s position to the public and media. The cockroach seems to be set to metamorphose from an online phenomenon into a real-world creature.
