It’s not summer without queuing for a scoop (or two) at Messina. Weekly specials have its Instagram fans running for creamy gelato studded with indulgent cakes, slices and pastries – perhaps vanilla pound cake in milk gelato with hundreds and thousands, or fior di latte gelato lifted by chunks of pistachio praline and white-chocolate-pistachio fudge. Now with gelaterias around Australia and a creative team (including dedicated pastry chefs and its own hazelnut and dairy farm) churning out fresh flavours year-round, Messina has fast become a nationwide favourite for creamy desserts.
