Bengaluru: Karnataka is expected to quickly change the fares for state-run buses, with Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh claiming a council led by withdrew IAS official Atul Tiwari will immediately send its statement to the government.

Government looking into ways to prevent loss

The state will decide whether and how many fares should be revised after the report is presented to the Cabinet for conversation.
Prior to this, the government had stated that any changes to the fare may be taken into account for the companies ‘ financial situation and the effects on people. According to Sandy, the government is looking into ways to reduce the deficits while keeping the effectiveness of public transportation services.
The application of the Shakti plan, which provides free go to people living in Karnataka on non-AC state-run trucks, has also been linked to the financial status of the companies. According to latest reports, the four businesses were awaiting reimbursements totaling Rs 5, 651 million from the state govt.
The authorities is introducing smart tickets for qualified people to improve confirmation under the Shakti system. Around one million people are expected to be covered by the first stage. The online system aims to verify beneficiaries and keep an traceable log of the scheme’s journeys.
Transportation department looking at expanding the e-bus ship
The transportation department is also working on a significant rise of Bengaluru’s electric-bus fleet. With the intention of strengthening public transportation and offering more alternatives to personal vehicles, around 4,500 electric buses are anticipated to be added to BMTC in phases.
Additionally, Suresh added that the position may take steps to improve traffic control and road safety. The government intends to outlaw the use of half helmets that are deemed unsafe for users who ride two wheels. After the appropriate regulations are formulated, action would be taken against producers.
The state is even considering lowering the fee for parking cars on roads from 500 to 5 000. Driving on one-way highways while blocking traffic is subject to the same Rs. 5, 000 good.
