The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday stepped up its attack on the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government over what it described as the “dilapidated” condition of government schools and launched a “School Theek Karo Abhiyaan (fix schools campaign)”. The party said the initiative would document schools and challenge the state government’s claims of transformation.
AAP’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said the campaign would initially focus on bringing the condition of schools in different districts before the public through videos.

The party has released footage from areas including Varanasi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur and Gorakhpur, showing what it alleged were shortcomings in school infrastructure.
“For the past few days, children across the country have been taking to the streets to raise the issue of the poor condition of schools,” Sanjay Singh said.
“Schools and education have become key issues in the country’s politics today,” he said, adding that the AAP would expand the campaign across Uttar Pradesh.
According to the party, people can record videos of government schools and share them with the campaign through a helpline.
AAP workers would contact those who submit information and use the material to highlight the condition of schools in the state. The party has cited the number 8382928009 in its social media posts for sending videos.
Questioning the state government’s claims of improving school infrastructure under its transformation scheme, the AAP MP asked why the government would be reluctant to showcase the schools if the work had actually been carried out. He also alleged that the BJP government’s claims regarding schools were false.
“The Aam Aadmi Party‘s “School Theek Karo” campaign has exposed the shortcomings of government schools in Western Uttar Pradesh! Fellow citizens of Uttar Pradesh, make a video of the dismal condition of the government school near you and send it to this number: 8382928009. Let us come together to transform the education system of Uttar Pradesh,” the party posted on its X handle.
The AAP also targeted the state government over schools in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency, Varanasi.
“Look at the condition of government schools in Prime Minister Modi’s parliamentary constituency of Varanasi. In the last 12 years, the way Modi ji has ruined the country’s education system, it’s unlikely any government has ever played such a massive prank with the future of the nation,” it said.
In another post, the AAP urged people to document school conditions and send the footage to the helpline, saying the campaign would help bring deficiencies to light and build public pressure for improvement.
The initiative is expected to gather more videos from across Uttar Pradesh in the coming days, as the AAP seeks to turn school infrastructure and education into a wider political issue in the state.
