A speeding Aston Martin allegedly driven by the 23-year-old son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh hit and killed a 26-year-old woman as she crossed a road outside a mall in Hyderabad, police said. The accused, Lingamaneni Sanjush, has been booked under provisions related to causing death by negligence following the accident in the city’s Madhapur area.
The victim, Bharati Mukhi (26), worked as a saleswoman at a mall and was crossing the road in front of the complex when the luxury car allegedly struck her at high speed and in a negligent manner.

Mukhi suffered a severe head injury in the collision. Police said she was rushed to a hospital in the same vehicle involved in the accident, but doctors declared her dead.
Based on a complaint and subsequent investigation, Madhapur police registered a case against Sanjush under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to causing death by negligence. The offence carries a punishment of up to five years in prison along with a fine.
A senior police official said Sanjush was not arrested because the offence is bailable. Instead, a notice was served to him and further investigation is underway.
According to investigators, Mukhi had stepped out with a colleague to collect food from a nearby hotel and was returning to the mall when the accident took place. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash, including allegations that the vehicle was being driven at excessive speed.
Investigators said evidence gathered during the probe indicated that Sanjush was behind the wheel at the time of the collision, leading to the registration of the case.
Sanjush is the son of Lingamaneni Ramesh, a Jana Sena Party (JSP) Rajya Sabha member from Andhra Pradesh. The case has attracted significant attention due to the involvement of the MP’s son and the high-end luxury car.
There was no immediate public response from the MP regarding the incident.
Police said the investigation is continuing and further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
