AR Rahman’s son and singer AR Ameen met with a car accident near the Kathipara flyover in Guindy, Chennai, on Monday. According to reports, Ameen and his friend were travelling from Koyambedu when their car collided with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Ameen and the others involved in the accident reportedly escaped with minor injuries. No major injuries have been reported so far, and further details are awaited as the police continue to investigate the incident.
No statement has been made by either Ameen or AR Rahman regarding the accident.
On the work front, Ameen recently lent his voice to the Tamil version of Chikiri Chikiri from Ram Charan’s recently released film Peddi. He also collaborated with Jasleen Royal on the independent single, Bheegi Bheegi, which features Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur.
Meanwhile, AR Rahman has had three releases this year — Gandhi Talks, which premiered directly on Zee5, Ram Charan’s Peddi and Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga. He has several projects lined up, including Ramayana: Part 1 and Ramayana: Part 2, Batwara 1947, Moon Walk and an untitled film with Dhanush and director Mari Selvaraj.
For now, Ameen is reported to be safe after the accident, with only minor injuries. Further details about the incident are awaited.
