According to police, eight criminal cases are already registered against Dubey at different police stations. He was recently booked under the Gangsters Act, following which police identified properties allegedly acquired through criminal activities and initiated the attachment proceedings.
Police alleged that Dubey operated a land-grabbing and plotting business under the patronage of Atiq Ahmed. Investigators also linked him to a recent case involving an alleged attempt on a person’s life during a land dispute. Dubey was arrested in the case and sent to jail.
During the investigation, police identified several properties allegedly acquired through illegal means. Their combined market value has been estimated at around Rs 25 crore.
The attachment proceedings were carried out in the presence of senior officials, including Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ankit Verma and Dhoomanganj Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Ravi Gupta.
Officials said strict action against properties allegedly acquired through criminal activities would continue, with the aim of curbing organised crime and illegal land operations in Prayagraj.
