The Santacruz Police, in a joint operation with the local Crime Branch, have cracked the burglary case at the residence of model and Bigg Boss 10 fame actor Lopamudra Raut, apprehending the primary suspect.
The arrested individual has been identified as 26-year-old Chandan Kamlesh Mukhiya, a native of Bihar. According to the police, stolen property worth Rs 76 lakh — including cash, gold jewellery, and gold biscuits — has been seized following his arrest.

The break-in occurred at Lopamudra Raut’s apartment in Santacruz while she was away from the city between June 20 and July 27. Upon returning home, the burglary was discovered, and a complaint was subsequently lodged with the local police station.
To trace the perpetrator, a joint team was formed combining officials from the Santacruz Police Station and the Crime Branch. Investigators scanned extensive CCTV footage from the surrounding premises, which ultimately helped them identify and trace Mukhiya to his hometown in Bihar.
Interrogation revealed that Mukhiya targeted the locked apartment during the period the actress was out of town. Police sources confirmed that the accused attempted to utilise the stolen funds to purchase land in his sister’s name.
Mukhiya is currently in police custody as authorities continue further interrogation and procedures to recover the remaining missing property.
Raut, known for her work in television, represented India at Miss United Continents 2016 in Ecuador, where she finished as second runner-up. She was also the second runner-up in the reality television series Bigg Boss 10 (2016-2017). The actor also secured sixth position in the adventure reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 (2017).
