A rural community has been rocked after a 23-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were found dead inside a home in a suspected murder-suicide.
Residents of Charleville, about 700km west of Brisbane, were urged to stay inside as the incident plunged the small town into lockdown on Wednesday evening.
Police had been called to a house on King St at about 6pm after reports of a “serious assault”.

Specialist police went inside the house and found the bodies of a 23-year-old woman, who was pregnant, and a 45-year-old man.
“No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident,” a statement read.
Police declared a Public Safety Preservation Act for the area, which was revoked shortly after 1.40am on Thursday.
