A British Airways plane almost collided with a “shiny silver object” the size of “four toasters” shortly after take off.
The Boeing 777-300ER jet – carrying 256 passengers – was travelling from London’s Heathrow Airport to New York on June 24 when the pilots reported an incident shortly after take-off as they were travelling over Guildford in Surrey as a UFO whizzed past the wing in the opposite direction.
An investigation was launched by the UK Airprox Board and the organisation’s report – obtained by The Sun newspaper – explained: “The B777 pilot reports that they were climbing to altitude 6000ft on departure from LHR [London Heathrow] .
“Passing 5800ft, a shiny silver object passed in the opposite direction, very fast and very close to the right wing of the aircraft at no more than 50ft above aircraft altitude …
“The LTCC [London Terminal Control Centre] controller reports that [the pilot of the B777] reported that a drone had just flown over their right wing.
“They said it was moving very fast, was probably of silver colour, metallic and reflective.
“After an enquiry as to its size, the [pilot] reported to them that it was about the ‘size of four toasters’.”
The report went on to suggest officials had been unable to identify the flying object, adding: “In the Board’s opinion the reported altitude and/or description of the object were such that they were unable to determine the nature of the unknown object.
“The Board considered that providence had played a major part in the incident and/or a definite risk of collision had existed.”
A spokesperson for British Airways told the publication: “We take matters such as these extremely seriously, and our pilots report these incidents so authorities can investigate them and take appropriate action.”
The news comes just days after the latest unsealing of UFO-related documents by US President Donald Trump’s administration.
The latest batch of UFO files were released by the Pentagon on Friday (23.10.26) and they included a report into an incident involving a high-speed triangle-shaped craft which was spotted over a secret military site in the US.
The UAP (Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena) was said to have a 15-foot wingspan and a top speed of 1,800 miles per hour and was witnessed by two federal law enforcement agents at a secret military site in Western America.
The two anonymous observers are described as having “extensive operational experience working alongside government agencies”.
They claimed the craft was “matt black triangular shaped” and was as “fast as a fighter jet” as it climbed to 200-200 feet above the ridge line of a canyon and then entered a “stable hover” for an estimated 20 seconds before shooting off in a horizontal flight.
The observers compared the UFO to a delta-wing drone and claimed it had a wingspan of between nine and 15ft (2.75 to 4.5m) while they are said to have calculated its speed to be around 1,800 miles per hour.
They also suggested the craft was silent as there was “no detectable acoustic signature”.
