In the CCTV, the teenager lost control of the black car after crossing a road junction and crashed into a two-wheeler being driven by 44-year-old Ramesh Kumar, said police inspector HP Gadhvi. The force of the collision threw Kumar several metres into the air from his scooter before he crashed onto the road.
CCTV showed the car continuing at high speed instead of stopping, before it ultimately crashed into a roadside tree. On the other hand, Kumar’s scooter was badly damaged in the impact following the crash.
Kumar sustained severe head injuries and remains in critical condition. He is undergoing treatment at Sterling Hospital in Rajkot.
Police said an FIR will be registered against the minor driver’s father. Legal action will also be initiated against the owner of the car, who is a friend of the teenager.
