A three-year-old boy was allegedly slapped and scratched on the head by a play school teacher in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, prompting his parents to file a police complaint. The child’s father claimed that CCTV footage showed the teacher assaulting the boy, while his mother said he now cries and screams at the mention of school.
The incident was reported from Govindpuri Colony. The child’s father, Atul Singh, submitted a written complaint to the police on Saturday, seeking action against the teacher. Police said they were investigating the allegations.

CHILD ALLEGEDLY FORCED TO EAT, ASSAULTED AT SCHOOL
Atul Singh, a resident of Govind Nagari near the HN Singh intersection, has two sons. His elder son studies in Class 3, while the younger boy is three years old. According to the family, the younger child was admitted to a nearby school in July.
The parents said the boy had been crying whenever he was asked to go to school, although they initially did not understand the reason for his distress.
Four days ago, the family received a video call from the school, during which the child was seen crying and trembling. The teacher reportedly told the parents that he was refusing to eat. His father alleged that roti was forcibly stuffed into the child’s mouth during the incident.
After learning about the situation, the parents went to school and brought their son home.
MOTHER SAYS CHILD IS NOW AFRAID OF SCHOOL
The child’s mother, Salvi Singh, said her son told her after returning home that the teacher had beaten him. She also claimed that marks from scratching with fingernails were visible on his head.
According to Salvi, the child has since become extremely frightened and starts screaming as soon as he hears the word school.
FATHER SEEKS MONTH-LONG CCTV FOOTAGE
Atul Singh said he visited the school the following day and watched the CCTV footage. He claimed the recordings showed the teacher slapping his son and scratching his head with her fingernails.
The father said he then asked the principal to provide CCTV footage covering one month. However, he alleged that the principal became angry and told him, in effect, to do whatever he wanted, adding that he would not get anything from the school.
The family has also alleged that the teacher assaulted other children at the school. The father urged the police to take possession of the CCTV footage at the earliest, expressing concern that evidence could be tampered with if action was delayed.
He said the matter was not limited to his son but also raised concerns about the safety of other children studying at the school.
Shahpur police station in-charge Anjay Singh said the matter was being investigated on the basis of the complaint.
