A video showing a doctor riding a motorcycle through the corridors of Fortis Hospital, Mohali during its Silver Jubilee celebrations has gone viral, with many questioning whether the celebratory entry was appropriate inside a functioning hospital.
The now-viral clip featured Dr Swapna Misra, a robotic gynaecological surgeon at Fortis Mohali, arriving at the event venue as a pillion rider on a motorcycle driven through the hospital premises.

As the bike reached the stage area, the crowd erupted in cheers before Dr Misra stepped off in a special outfit prepared for the Silver Jubilee celebrations.
Although the original video was later removed from the hospital’s primary social media account, it had already been widely circulated on X.

A separate post shared by Fortis Mohali on Facebook still includes glimpses of the motorcycle entry alongside other highlights from the celebrations.
Describing the occasion, the hospital wrote, “25 years of transforming healthcare. 25 years of earning trust. 25 years of touching millions of lives.”
The Silver Jubilee event brought together doctors, nurses, caregivers, employees and members of the leadership team to celebrate the hospital’s 25-year journey. The festivities included cultural performances and dance acts recognising the contributions of healthcare workers over the years.
For many viewers, the scene immediately brought back memories of the iconic sequence from the film 3 Idiots, in which Rancho rushes Raju’s injured father into a hospital on a scooter.
Coincidentally, that memorable scene was also filmed at Fortis. While the latest video was part of a planned celebration rather than an emergency, the visual resemblance was enough for many social media users to draw comparisons.
While many appreciated the festive atmosphere and the milestone being celebrated, others expressed concern over a motorcycle being ridden inside hospital premises. Several users felt the noise and commotion created by the entry seemed out of place in an environment where patients typically expect calm, safety and minimal disturbance.
