The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has opened applications for its Young Ambassador Programme 2027. Students who have previously studied in Germany or participated in academic projects there can now apply through the official DAAD website.
The last date to submit applications is September 30, 2026. Interested candidates will first have to complete an eligibility checklist before proceeding with their personal and academic details.

WHAT IS DAAD YOUNG AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME?
The Young Ambassador Programme is designed for students who have studied in Germany and wish to help others explore higher education opportunities in the country.
Selected ambassadors will guide prospective students by sharing their experiences, providing information about German universities, and creating awareness about study opportunities, scholarships and funding options.
The programme will run for two semesters and will begin with a compulsory training session for selected candidates.
TRAINING AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF SELECTED CANDIDATES
During the training programme, candidates will be introduced to Germany’s higher education system, research landscape, and various DAAD scholarships and financial support opportunities.
The selected Young Ambassadors will later support students interested in studying in Germany by offering guidance and sharing their academic experiences.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates applying for the programme must fulfil the following requirements:
- Must be a citizen of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, or Sri Lanka
- Must have studied or conducted research in Germany
- Must be below 32 years of age as on January 1, 2027
- Students currently pursuing studies in Germany are also eligible to apply
- Must be willing to attend the Young Ambassadors Training Workshop scheduled for November 2026
APPLICATION DEADLINE
Eligible candidates can submit their applications for the DAAD Young Ambassador Programme 2027 until September 30, 2026. Applicants are advised to check the official website for detailed guidelines and complete the process before the deadline.
