Singer Diljit Dosanjh recently took a jibe at news debates and social media users over reports claiming that his Delhi concert was postponed after the Delhi Police denied permission, citing security concerns. Calling out the speculation, the singer urged people to check the facts before jumping to conclusions and confirmed that he would meet fans in Delhi on October 30.

In a live session, Diljit addressed the reports and took a dig at the flurry of social media posts and newsroom debates surrounding the concert. He said, “Main ye bol raha tha ki ban gayi reels, ban gaye tweets, ho gayi aapki newsroom ki debates. Ab milte hain 30 tareekh ko Delhi mein. Pehle news pata kar liya karo, kacha dhuan maare jaa rahe ho. Kacha dhuan maarne se achha hai pehle baat pata kar liya karein (I was saying that reels have been made, tweets have been posted, and newsroom debates have already begun. Now, see you in Delhi on the 30th. Find out the facts first before jumping to conclusions. You’re making a lot of noise without knowing the full story. It’s better to get your facts straight before),” he said.

The singer went on to criticise the rush to comment on the issue, suggesting that people were more interested in creating a debate than understanding what had actually happened.

“Aivai debate par debate kare jaa rahe hain, tweet par tweet kare jaa rahe hain. Bahut badhiya din hai, toh socha live aa jaayein. Baat bhi karni thi bahut saari. Reels ho rahi thi, tweets ho rahe the, newsroom ki debates chal rahi thi (They keep having one debate after another and posting tweet after tweet. It’s such a lovely day, so I thought I’d come live. There was a lot I wanted to talk about, too. Reels were being made, tweets were being posted, and newsroom debates were underway),” he added.

He ended the live session by reiterating that he would meet his fans in the national capital on October 30, putting the speculation surrounding the concert to rest.

Earlier, the Delhi Police had denied permission for Diljit Dosanjh’s concert scheduled for October 30, citing security concerns. According to reports, a letter addressed to ticketing platform BookMyShow from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, South District, stated that the request to organise the Delhi leg of Diljit’s Aura India Tour had been examined but could not be approved.

The letter reportedly cited “specific threat-related inputs”, the police’s security and law-and-order commitments during the ongoing festive season, and other concerns as reasons for the decision.

However, permission for the concert was granted on October 30 after the organisers agreed to comply with several conditions laid down by the authorities, including those related to private security personnel and crowd management.

The police had laid down several conditions for the event, including requirements concerning the number of private security guards, crowd management and other security arrangements. Permission was granted after the organisers agreed to comply with these conditions.

Following the Delhi show, the tour will continue in Indore on November 15, Ahmedabad on November 21, Mumbai on November 27, Bengaluru on November 29 and Lucknow on December 5. A concert in Chandigarh has also been announced, although its date and other details are yet to be confirmed.
