According to the complaint filed by Constable Manish Kumar, who was driving the SHO’s official vehicle, the accused later rammed a grey Safari SUV into it near the Kanhai red light when the officer was travelling towards Huda City Centre. The complaint said the impact damaged the official vehicle and injured the driver.
“The female officer informed me that the individual in question is her husband. When the official vehicle was heading towards HUDA City Centre, a grey Safari approaching from behind rammed into it near the Kanhai red light at around 12.25 pm,” the complaint stated. “The impact was severe enough to damage the official vehicle and cause injuries to my neck and lower back,” it added.
The complaint further alleged that the accused got out of his vehicle, snatched the woman’s purse and fled. It also said that when the driver tried to apprehend him, he steered the vehicle towards him, forcing him to move away to avoid being hit.
Police said an FIR was registered at Sector-40 police station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including charges related to rash driving, causing hurt by an act endangering life, obstructing a public servant, assault or criminal force against a public servant, and snatching. “A case has been registered against the husband of the SHO. We are investigating the matter. Action will be taken as per the law,” a senior police officer said.
In summary, police said the case relates to an alleged assault arising from a domestic dispute, in which the SHO’s husband is accused of creating a disturbance at the police station, ramming her official vehicle, injuring the driver and fleeing after allegedly snatching her purse.
