A man has been arrested after an elderly woman was allegedly fatally stabbed at an apartment.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Chambers Avenue, Bondi Beach about 5.15pm on Saturday following reports of a stabbing, police said.
Officers found a woman, aged in her 90s, with significant injuries. She was treated by paramedics, however, died at the scene.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene and has been taken in custody.
Police have established a crime scene and an investigation into the alleged stabbing is underway.
