An elderly woman has been fatally stabbed at a Bondi Beach unit.
Emergency services found a woman aged in her 90s with significant injuries at a Chambers Ave property about 5.15pm on Saturday.
Paramedics treated the woman at the scene, but she could not be saved.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the unit and taken to the Surry Hills Police Station.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers as detectives investigate the matter.
It is the second woman to be stabbed to death in NSW on Saturday.
A 23-year-old woman was killed at a home in Kooringal, at Wagga Wagga, in southern NSW earlier on Saturday.
One man fled the scene before emergency services arrived, another 18-year-old man was arrested.
